Access and Navigation in the Cathedral
- Entrance: The main entrance through the central portal (Portal of the Last Judgment) is accessible for individuals with disabilities. A fast-track access is available to avoid waiting in line.
- Staff assistance: Trained staff are available upon request to assist visitors in overcoming obstacles and navigating the spaces. No reservation is necessary.
- Guide dogs: Permitted throughout the cathedral.
- Lighting: Steps in the chapels are equipped with specific lighting to highlight the edges, ensuring easier access.
An accompanying person is allowed for the visit to the cathedral and the treasury.
Mediation Tools
- Tactile booklets and 3D models: Tactile and braille booklets (in French) provide information about the cathedral’s layout, the façade, the rose window, the choir screen, and the reliquary of the Crown of Thorns. In addition to these, three 3D models complement the visit (the building, the baptistery, and the statue of Our Lady of Paris). These resources are available upon request at the reception desk.
- Mobile app: A free mobile app, compatible with Android and iPhone, offers all visitors an enriched experience in French, English, or Spanish. It includes an audio description tour accessible from the home screen. Other tours are available in large print. Please bring your own headphones to fully enjoy the app’s content.
