Access and Navigation in the Cathedral
- Dedicated entrance: The main entrance through the central portal (Portal of the Last Judgment) is wheelchair accessible. A fast-track access is available to avoid waiting in line. No reservation is necessary.
- Lifting platform: Located near the liturgical platform in the north transept, it provides access to the ambulatory and the chapels around the choir.
- Access ramps: Several chapels, such as those of Saint Joseph and Isaiah, have fixed or movable ramps installed upon request via call buttons.
An accompanying person is allowed for the visit to the cathedral and the treasury.
Reserved Spaces and Comfort
To allow visitors with mobility impairments to easily see and follow Mass, conferences, or concerts, space in front of the first row of chairs is reserved for them.
Mediation Tools
- Adapted signage: Throughout the visit, explanatory signs and panels in French, English, and Spanish help visitors better understand the building and the displayed artworks. These are positioned at a height accessible to wheelchair users and children.
- Mobile app: A free mobile app, compatible with Android and iPhone, offers all visitors guided tours in French, English, or Spanish. Special attention has been given to accessibility, with multiple tour options available.
Visiting the Treasury
The treasury, located in the sacristy, is accessible via the ambulatory. While some display cases are elevated, their contents remain visible. Assistance from staff at the treasury reception is available if needed.
⚠️ Important: The cathedral does not provide equipment such as wheelchairs. Visitors must bring their own.
