Sacrament of Reconciliation

This sacrament is called the sacrament of conversion because it responds to Jesus’ call to return to God after sin. It is also a sacrament of penance, where the Christian repents and seeks to make amends for their wrongs. It is also called the sacrament of confession because it involves confessing sins before a priest, and it becomes a moment of praise for the holiness and mercy of God. It is a sacrament of forgiveness, as through absolution, God grants forgiveness and peace. Finally, it is called the sacrament of reconciliation because it allows one to be reconciled with God and, subsequently, with others.
