Offer a Mass

The Church allows the faithful to associate themselves with the Mass through a particular intention entrusted to the celebrant, who has always been recognized as having the ability to join this particular intention to the general intention.

A Mass can be requested, for example, in thanksgiving for newlyweds, a baptism, a birthday, a deceased person, a sick person, a healing, or for a special intention that may remain unspecified for reasons of discretion. The Mass has no fixed price. However, from the earliest times, the faithful have wanted to participate in the Eucharist through offerings. The Assembly of Bishops suggests the following offering amounts:

  • For a single Mass, the current offering is 18 euros.
  • For a novena (celebration of 9 consecutive Masses over 9 days), the offering is 180 euros.

You can request Masses in our dedicated online page.

Notre-Dame Cathedral of Paris is closed following the fire on April 15, 2019. Therefore, a priest from the Cathedral will celebrate this Mass in another church.

Given the very high number of requests, we cannot provide a specific date for the celebration of the requested Masses.

Please specify if the Mass is requested for a deceased person or not.
