Mystery of the Passion, Arnoul Gréban

by Arnoul Gréban
While serving as organist and master of the children's choir at Notre-Dame, Arnoul Gréban wrote the "Mystery of the Passion" for the aldermen of Abbeville in 1452.

He knew how to translate the presence of Christ into the lives of his contemporaries and conveyed to the Magi the sentiments of the faithful, who were struck by the poverty of the means chosen by the Messiah to save all men throughout all times.

Seeing your Son
Will illuminate our entire life.

We will not dwell
on his poverty, and we believe
that he knows and can do everything as
the true Son of God his Father.

May you keep him for your joy,
O venerable Lady and Mother.
Just by looking at him,
one feels transported with happiness.
